Natural Attractions

Southmead has plenty of open green spaces for running, cycling and walking, such as Southmead Adventure Playground. Badock’s Wood and Henleaze Lake are both within easy reach of the area. Just outside of Southmead, there’s Clifton Observatory just a few miles into the city which stands by the famous Clifton Suspension Bridge.

There are several schools in Southmead, including Fonthill Primary, Orchard School, Badocks Wood Primary and Bristol Free School. Badocks Wood Children Centre has Early Year’s facilities. Elmfield School for Deaf Children is just on the outskirts of the town, while the University of Bristol is just a 10-minute drive from Southmead for families with teenage children or older students who will be moving to the area and want to live close to the campus.
