Maisonette For Sale Goolden Street, Bristol

Office: NEXA Bristol
Property ID: 1713580802

Description

Carly Hales of NEXA Bristol is delighted to bring to the market this beautiful Victorian maisonette, situated in the most ever so popular Goolden Street, Totterdown. This property is a little gem, with period features throughout, over 1300 sq ft of living accommodation (bigger than most houses in this area)! Walking distance to local amenities, pubs, shops & restaurants, well regarded local schools, & walking distance to the Bristol City Centre. This property is one not to be missed!

“We absolutely loved living in Totterdown and the big blue house is such a unique property that we’re hoping to find a buyer who will love it like we have. We discovered that Goolden Street had been bombed in WWII and number 12 had survived with only a little bit of cosmetic damage. We lovingly renovated it, taking off render that had been used to patch it up after the war and replaced the Bath stone where it had been damaged. We repointed the front using traditional lime mortar and replaced the roof to ensure the house is energy efficient. We’ve kept sash windows and period features.

The house is comprised of a kitchen diner and an additional large living room on the ground floor. A terrace and the garden can be accessed from the kitchen. Two large, full width of house, double bedrooms on the first, the master suite looking out over the view of Bristol and having an en-suite shower room. Upstairs again is another double bedroom and a family bathroom with a freestanding bath that you can lie in and enjoy the view. In the summer months hot air balloons often fly over the house and garden.

The garden is really large for the area and ‘totters’ down the hill. There are views from the back of the house over Vale Street- the steepest occupied street in Europe where an annual Easter egg rolling competition is held and where Banksy created a mural. Next-door is School Road Park, a lovely hang out for young children and families. As Goolden Street is a no through road it is perfect for children to come and go from the house to the park, safely. Wells Road is just a 2 minutes walk away with a brilliant array of shops and places to eat and drink.

Totterdown is just a 10-15 minutes walk from Bristol Temple Meads and another 5-10 from the harbour side and city centre. It has plenty of great places to eat, drink and shop; and a lovely community spirit. Each November the Totterdown Arts Trail sees half the neighbourhood open it’s doors to show off artwork. The local primary school is just across the park from the house- it is highly respected. The property is also within easy walking distance to Temple Quarter, the University of Bristol’s major new half billion-pound development which is currently underway.

The back of the “big blue house” forms one of the iconic views of Totterdown and, with three floors of large rooms, feels like a big house with a separate basement flat rather than a maisonette”.

Viewings taking place 7th, 9th & 11th January 2023, please call to arrange a viewing.
